Between November 22nd and December 4th, someone forced entry into ABC Auto Salvage located in the 3400 block of Rodeo Rd. Once inside the fence, the suspect damaged several salvage cars. A bat that was left behind, was likely used to break glass and lights on several vehicles. Once the suspect grew bored with breaking glass and lights on the vehicles, he discovered a car with keys in the ignition. The suspect used the car for a demolition derby, running into several more of the salvage vehicles. It’s estimated that over $10,000 worth of salvage parts were destroyed during the commission of this crime.

Between November 2nd and November 13th, someone forced entry into the maintenance shed at Plainview Cemetery south of Maxwell. Once inside the thief stole a red 2016 Bush Hog zero turn mower with a Kohler engine. The thief also made off with a Stihl gas powered trimmer and two gas cans. Over $3,000 worth of damage was done to the shed and over $9,000 worth of equipment was stolen.

During the week of November 6th, someone burglarized a garage located in the 600 block of North Sherman. The thief entered through an unlocked door and stole several Snap-On brand tools. Items taken by the thief include two tap and die master sets, a soldering iron, a ball joint press, a ¼ inch socket set, a 3/8 inch hex bit socket set, a slide hammer and a cooling system pressure tester. In all, the thief made off with over $3,000 worth of tools.

On October 10th, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office investigated a burglary in Calvary Hills. The victim had tools stolen from a garage that is attached to his residence. Some of the stolen items include Mac Tools brand impact wrenches, drills and die grinders as well as Snap on brand tap and rivet tools. Also take during the burglary were a Dremel tool, hand drills, oil filter wrenchs, drill bit sets and a Homelite chainsaw. In all, the thief made off with $3,000 worth of tools.

During the week of September 18th, someone stole some tools from a vacant house and garage located in the 800 block of south Bryan. The tenant was moving out and the landlord was doing some work on the house. The stolen items include a Snap-On Torque Wrench, Cornwell pry bar, 2 Cornwell die grinders, 2 Snap On wrench sets, a lime green Snap On air impact wrench, a camouflage air impact wrench and a Streamlight Knucklehead. The items are valued at over $3,000.

On September 12th, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office investigated a burglary at a cell tower site. The tower is located south of the Sutherland I-80 interchange. Someone cut the lock and chain that was used to secure the gate at the site and then forced entry into the building. The thief stole 10 batteries and a power washer that were stored inside the building at the tower site. The loss to the cellular company was in excess of $5,000.

During the early morning hours of September 21st, someone broke into Kelsey’s Place located at 219 Rodeo Rd. The suspect cut the lock on a gate and then damaged a windows to gain entry into the business. Once inside, the thief used an electronic cutting tool to gain access to the safe. The thief was able to get the safe open and stole the nightly deposit.

On the morning of September 4th, the police received several reports of damaged car tires. The damage was isolated in an area on the east side of North Platte. During the night time hours, someone victimized 18 people by puncturing one or more tires on their vehicles. The vandal didn’t appear to target any one person and managed to cause over $5,000 in damage during his crime spree.

On August 18th,around 9 PM, a driver parked his semi truck in the parking lot at the Western Convenience Truck Stop in Hershey. The following morning, the driver discovered that someone removed the lock and seal from his refrigerated trailer. The trailer was full of beef and the suspect sprayed a liquid on the boxes of beef that were inside the trailer. The liquid was oily, smelled like a petroleum based product and was yellow in color. The loss was in excess of $100.000.

During the weekend of July 14th, someone broke into a service van located in the 700 block of east Francis. The thief broke out a passenger window and stole several items from inside the van. The stolen items include a Milwaukee drill, two tool bags containing miscellaneous tools, fiber optic splicer, spectrum analyzer, light meter and a laptop computer. The loss was in excess of $10,000.

Shortly after 3:00 AM on July 27th, police responded to a burglar alarm at the Westfield Pharmacy. Upon arrival, the officers found a door had been forced open. The suspect ransacked the pharmacy counter, apparently in search of money and drugs. The investigation revealed that a small amount of cash was stolen along with controlled substances in pill form.
